This is an essential oil body wash recipe that can help your sinuses feel clear and open. I love using it in my morning shower! I call it the “Sinus Clear Body Wash.”
I make it in a 2 oz (60 ml) PET plastic bottle. I usually make essential oil blends in glass, but this is going in the shower where my fingers might get slippery. I don’t want to drop a glass bottle and have it break! PET plastic is known as a non-reactive plastic that doesn’t leach, so it’s a good choice when glass isn’t ideal.
This body wash recipe calls for equal parts castile soap and aloe vera gel. It’s easy to make! I don’t even measure my ingredients when pouring them into my bottle.
1 oz (30 ml) castile soap (1:09)
1 oz (28 gm) aloe vera gel (Aloe barbadensis) (1:33)
10 drops Black Spruce essential oil (Picea mariana) (2:18)
5 drops Eucalyptus essential oil (Eucalyptus radiata) (2:45)
There are a lot of species of Eucalyptus. I’m using radiata for this recipe, but any of them would be a good choice. Feel free to substitute your favorite.
It’s normal for this body wash recipe to look a little cloudy and separated. You can see that effect in the video when I’m dropping the essential oils into the bottle. All you have to do is shake it gently (2:52).
Use your blend as a morning body wash, especially when your sinuses feel congested or you feel stuffed up. The combination of the essential oils and the warm steam of the shower are so relieving! It also makes a great bath gel.
Breathe deeply and enjoy it!
